Briefing
At Ohpen, we build cloud-native core-banking software for key players in the financial world and are seeking a new colleague to help our efforts in navigating the legal side.
As Junior Legal Counsel, you’ll help shape policies and practical guidance around software development, open source licensing, AI governance, legal operations and privacy by design.
Your motivation and drive are key components to master the intersection of law and technology. This role offers accelerated learning and growth in areas most lawyers never touch: AI governance frameworks, legal operations and regulatory interpretation that shape how Ohpen’s software is built from the ground up.
Become a strategic voice; as your legal expertise will influence product development as well as Ohpen’s business strategy. You’ll have a great opportunity to develop into a Subject Matter Expert, becoming a go-to person at Ohpen for essentials like, GDPR, use of AI or legal operations (maybe all three if you can handle it!)

About You
- You bring intellectual curiosity and confidence – whether you are a fresh graduate with a traditional law degree or studied IT. We’re looking for potential and drive that help you contribute meaningfully from day one, especially in areas like compliance, privacy or legal operations.
- You’re genuinely excited and interested in AI and technology and your interest in software, cloud services and digital regulation goes beyond the surface level.
- You’re critical thinker, see the bigger picture and are not afraid of complex problems.
- You thrive on intellectual honesty—ready to admit knowledge gaps while relentlessly pursuing solutions independently.
- You're a master of precise communication (written & verbal), as you understand importance of every word and how it reflects clarity of thought.
